Police are hunting a masked robber who shoved a woman to the floor before running away with her handbag in Matlock.

The woman was approached by a man behind the Oxfam shop on Dale Road at around 10am on Monday, February 1.

The man, who was masked by a scarf and beanie hat, grabbed the woman’s handbag and pushed her to the floor.

Police say the woman let go of the bag and the man ran off in the direction of Matlock Bath, under the railway bridge.

The man was described as white and 6ft tall with a pockmarked face.

He was wearing a dark grey ski jacket with the hood worn up and a grey beanie style hat worn underneath with the scarf across his face.
