REFURBISHMENT proposals for Chesterfield Market Hall are to be considered.
Town planners will discuss details of the £4m renovation, due to start in February, on Monday October 10.
Replacing the hall’s roof with a glazed atrium, completely refurbishing the assembly rooms, creating new entrances, toilets and modern market facilities as well as moving its café to a newly levelled ground floor, are all part of the huge project.
But the borough council’s project has provoked a mixed reponse, with some traders saying their future is in limbo.
On Monday planners will look at three separate applications to form new first floor officers, the extension, refurbishment and repair of the market hall plus plans for a temporary building that will house traders.
