SUPER-FIT sponsored runners have raised over £5,000 in pledges for Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice after completing the London Marathon.

Esther Ingle, of Dronfield, and friends John Cook, Ewan Cameron and Rich Ashley took on the 26mile challenge on Sunday, April 22, and all chose to support the hospice, on Ashgate Road.

Mrs Ingle said: “The hospice does such a good job for those suffering with cancer and after my husband had to overcome skin cancer it made me realise what an important role this charity has in our community.”

Simon James Cars, of Unstone, was so impressed by Esther and her friends that the company donated running vests for their run.
