Marathon fund-raiser spurred by late dad
A woman who lost her dad to cancer has run up more than £500 for a new facility at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Rachel Jones of Hollingwood completed the Bournemouth Marathon in 4hrs and 35mins.
She decided to raise cash for the new Macmillan cancer unit at the Royal after her dad had to travel to Leeds for treatment and his family couldn’t always be at the hospital to support him. The new unit will benefit patients’ relatives by reducing travel distance and time.
