Man jailed after assaulting teen boy

A Chesterfield man who left a teenager with a fractured skull after an assault has been jailed for 21 months.

Daniel Forthergill, 19, was part of a group of people who approached a 17-year-old boy on Troughbrook Lane, Chesterfield, last December.

There was a scuffle between the victim and Fothergill and the 17-year-old suffered a fractured skull and loss of hearing in one ear.

Forthergill, of Southgate Way, Barrow Hill pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to 21 months in a young offender institution following a hearing at Derby Crown Court.
