Man hospitalised after Eckington pub assault

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a man was assaulted outside a pub in Marsh Lane near Eckington.

At around 1am today (Wednesday, July 19) a 23-year-old man was assaulted outside the Butchers Arms pub, Main Road.

He suffered cuts to his head and was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

The offender is described as white, between 5’ 4’’ and 5’ 6’’ tall, of large build, with short black hair and wearing a black jacket.

Following the assault he ran off in the direction of Dronfield.
