Man charged with driving offences

A MAN has been charged with several driving offences after being pursued by police.

The 25-year-old man, from Rotherham, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and aggravated vehicle theft.

Officers saw a suspicious Land Rover in Main Road, Stretton, Alfreton at around 12.25am on Thursday, December 22 and tried to pull the driver over. He drove off through Teversal and Pleasley before stopping in a car park at Mill Street, Clowne.

The police helicopter was deployed to follow the vehicle from the air. Officers discovered the Land Rover had been taken from a house in Spencer Road, Belper.
