Man cautioned for metal theft

A SHEFFIELD man has been cautioned by police for stealing metal from a garden in Killamarsh.

At around 9.15am on Friday, December 9 a metal frame was stolen from a trailer parked in the back garden of a house on Acacia Crescent.

Police were called by the owner of the house and after searching the area they stopped a van and found the stolen item.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for theft and admitted taking the metal frame. He received a police caution.

Derbyshire Constabulary launched Operation Calanthia on September 1st to tackle the growing problem of theft of metal such as copper, lead, iron and steel.
