Police are searching for a man who caused a disabled woman on a mobility scooter to cross in front of moving cars and hit a wall.

Sometime between 4pm and 4.20pm on Friday, August 12, a 58-year-old woman was on her mobility scooter on Mundy Street, Heanor, waiting to cross the road.

Suddenly, a man came up to her from behind and pressed her hand on the accelerator handle, causing the scooter to cross the road and hit the wall opposite.

She was left with a sore hand and her scooter was damaged.

She did not get a good look at the person responsible but believes he was walking with three other men. He is described as white and muscular with a shaved head and full lips.
