Police have arrested a man connection with an armed bank robbery in 1985.
Officers from Matlock CID arrested the 63-year-old, from Ironville, yesterday (May 25) on suspicion of robbery.
He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The robbery took place at Lloyds bank, Cromford, on September 18 1985, when three men raided the bank, hitting the 61-year-old male security guard in the face with a shotgun. He suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The offenders made off with more than £7,000, leaving the scene in a Ford Escort, which was later found abandoned in Market Street, Belper.
In December 2010, Alan Murray (59), of Pilmoor, York, was jailed for ten years for his part in the robbery.
