Firefighters battled a large blaze after it spread through office cabins at Duckmanton.
The fire was spotted and reported to Derbyshire fire service by motorists travelling on the M1 motorway about 2.40am, on Monday, February 9.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “Several calls were received about the fire from motorists travelling along the M1 motorway.”
Chesterfield, Staveley and Bolsover firefighters attended the fire and discovered several interconnected cabins which were being used as offices, stores, canteens and as a garage.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used three pumps, a water carrier, one aerial ladder platform and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman added that an inspection is due to be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
