Long service award at Wood Bastow
A reader from Swanwick loaned us this picture taken in 1954.
It shows Eva Fletcher shaking hands as she was recognised for her long service with Selston firm Wood Bastow. The firm, as our readers says, employed many women from Derbyshire at the time.
Based in the village opposite the church, it used to make women’s underwear, corsets and swimwear.
