Thousands of people flocked to enjoy themed fun at a 1940s weekend.
Chesterfield’s third 1940s weekend included swing jive dancing, a vintage fair and re-enactment of life on the home front.
And Chesterfield Museum saw one of its highest-ever visitor figures with 1,050 people through the doors on Saturday alone.
It is only the fourth time the 1,000 visitor barrier has been broken at the museum.
An extra 780 turned up to the site on Sunday.
Cllr Amanda Serjeant, Chesterfield Borough Council’s executive member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “The 1940s is a key part of our history and I’m delighted so many people took the opportunity to come along.
“I’m sure for many of our older residents, this brought back memories of life on the home front and was an education for our younger visitors.”
Enthusiasts from the living history group UK Homefront treated visitors to a display of day life during the war years at the council-run attraction.
The Winding Wheel and the Pomegranate Theatre also held events with 735 people buying tickets.
A parade of vintage cars and wartime equipment, 1940s hair styling, plus a forties party. were also among the star attractions.
The weekend was rounded off by a showing of the classic 1945 film Brief Encounter at the theatre.
