Trio among high-flyers
A trio of North Derbyshire students were among the high flyers at a girls' school which achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for the seventh year.
Sheffield High's head girl Juliet Carlisle, from Dronfield, celebrated five grade As and a B, as well as receiving the school's 'Best All Rounder' prize for her dedication and prowess on the sports field.
She is now going to Durham University to read economics and politics.
Lizzie Riley, of Dronfield Woodhouse, is off to Imperial College, London, to read geology after also achieving four As and a B-grade AS level.
And Elizabeth West, from Newbold, who gained three As and a B AS, will study history at Exeter University.
Headteacher Valerie Dunsford said: "I would like to congratulate both the girls and the staff on these fantastic achievements. I am proud that our students regularly achieve over and above expectations."
Of the school's 91 pupils, 39 achieved straight A grades.
