Tributes to fallen

Residents can attend the following Remembrance Sunday ceremonies on November 8 organised by the Royal British Legion and local authorities to pay tribute to members of the armed forces who have fallen during conflicts.

* Chesterfield Parish Church service, from 2.30pm, followed by a parade to the war memorial, on Rose Hill, at the town hall, with wreath-laying, about 3.15pm.

* The Old Contemptibles is holding a ceremony, at Christ Church, on Sheffield Road, at Stonegravels, Chesterfield, from 6.30pm.

* Dronfield's School Lane, from 10.20am, for a parade, from 10.40am, to the war memorial, for 11am, for wreath-laying and Act of Remembrance, and the parade continues to St John's Church for service.

* Staveley parade, from St John's Road, from 9.30am, to Market Square, and to the Garden of Remembrance wreath laying, service and silence, from 10.45am, followed by a march past the war memorial.

* Clay Cross parade, from Market Street, at 9.30am, to St Bartholomew's Church, and wreath-laying, at 11am, at the War Memorial.

* Danesmoor parade, from St Barnabas' Centre, from 9.30am, with service at the centre, from 10am, and wreath-laying, at the war memorial, at 11am.

* St Lawrence Church, St Lawrence Road, North Wingfield,at 10am, and to North Wingfield green for the Act of Remembrance, at 11am.

* Bolsover parade, at Castle Gardens, from 10.15am, to a Bolsover Parish Church service, from 10.35am until 11.40am, followed by a further parade and wreath-laying at the Cenotaph.

* Clowne's St John's Church service, from 9.30am, and a parade, from 10.20am, to The Cenotaph, on The Green, for wreath-laying, service and Act of Remembrance.

* Alfreton parade from the car park, at Rodgers Lane, at 10.30am, along High Street to the war memorial, on King Street, for the wreath-laying, around 11am, followed by service at St Martin's Church.

* Ripley parade from 10.25am, at the Co-operative car park, followed by a service at All Saints' Church at 11am.

* Bakewell parade from 10.10am, from Market Square, followed by wreath-laying in the square and Bath Gardens, and a Bakewell Parish Church service, from 10.45am, with 11am silence, and parade to Cottage Hospital and Market Square.

* Matlock's Park Head, at Hall Leys Park, at 11am, for ceremony with silence and prayer and services will be held at Pic Tor war memorial, at 11am, Starkholmes war memorial, at 11.20am, and Hall Leys Park, at 3pm.

* Darley Dale's Broadwalk, from 2.30pm, for a parade with a service at the war memorial, Whitworth Park, from 3pm.

* Chesterfield's Old Contemptibles is also holding a parade from the town hall, at 10.40am, to the War Memorial, for 11am, on Wednesday's Armistice Day.
