Tonic for Chesterfield hospital
A national report has heaped praise on Chesterfield Royal Hospital for the standard of care offered to men suffering from prostate cancer.
The Prostate Cancer Charter for Action analysed data handed to them by the Office for National Statistics, which shows that the Royal has the second lowest mortality rate for the cancer in the country, with just 13 deaths per 100,000, against a national average of 25.
Nicky James, a nurse consultant in prostate cancer at the Royal, said: "I think we can be delighted with the care we provide and men across North Derbyshire can be reassured that they are in very good hands at the Royal."
