Stab victim Jade described as “lovely and fun-loving” by family
Somercotes murder victim Jade Riley Ward
THE family of a woman found stabbed to death at her home have described her as a “lovely, fun loving girl.”
The body of Jade Riley-Ward was found by emergency services at a house on Burke Drive on September 22.
A post-mortem revealed she had died of multiple stab wounds.
A family spokesman said: “Jade was a lovely, fun loving girl. She loved people and saw the good side in everyone she met.
“She was exceptionally hard working and had planned to embark on an accountancy course which was due to start in the weeks following her death; she had a great future.
“To lose her in such a tragic and sudden manner is hard to bear, she will be greatly missed by her close family and her many friends. “
Miss Riley-Ward’s funeral was held on Thursday, October 11.
Cornelius Brown, of Greenhill Lane, Riddings, is accused of murdering the 30-year-old.
Brown will appear at court again on December 20 for a plea and directions hearing.
A trial has been provisionally set for March.
