TWO Santa Specials will run on the Buxton rail line on Saturday, December 8 - twice as many as last year thanks to its popularity in 2011.

This year the Friends of the Stations - Buxton, Chapel and Whaley - in conjunction with Northern Rail have arranged two Santa Specials from Hazel Grove at 11.13, Disley 11.20am, New Mills Newtown 11.24, Furness Vale 11.26. Whaley Bridge 11.29, Chapel 11.36, arriving in Buxton at 11.52.

In the afternoon, the Special will leave Hazel Grove at 14.13, Middlewood 14.18, Disley 14.22, New Mills Newtown 14.25, Furness Vale 14.28, Whaley Bridge 14.31, Chapel 14.38, Dove Holes 14.43 arriving at Buxton 14.55.

Santa will travel on each of the trains with a gift for the children, and there will be entertainment on board.
