Road shut for another week

REPAIR works on the Long Hill road between Buxton and Whaley Bridge are expected to last for another week.

The A5004 will be closed from its junction with Park Road in Buxton up to the White Hall Outdoor Activity Centre until Friday February 22.

A diversion will be in place with motorists being advised to follow the A6 towards Buxton then follow Bridge Street, Station Road and back to the A5004.

They will be asked to use the same A6 route travelling in the opposite direction.

The road had been due to re-open this Friday.

A Derbyshire County Council spokesman said the road may re-open sooner than expected, depending on how the repair works progress.

The spokesman added: “We apologises for any inconvenience caused during the duration of the temporary restriction.

“Any member of the public requiring further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 08456 058058.”
