Pedestrian injured after car crash

FIREFIGHTERS helped clear bricks away from an injured pedestrian after two vehicles were involved in a collision which damaged a wall.

The collision happened on Landsdowne Avenue, at Newbold, Chesterfield, at the junction of Highfield Lane, about 10.20am, on Sunday.

A fire service spokesman said: “A car was in collision with a wall and an adult, male pedestrian.

“Crews made the vehicle safe and cleared the bricks away from the casualty and paramedics assisted him.”

Police and an ambulance also attended the incident and the casualty was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
