Out-of-hours medical helpline
Medical experts are keen to remind poorly residents about the availability of a new telephone helpline during out-of-surgery hours.
Derbyshire Health United, which has a contract with Derbyshire Primary Care Trust, is urging anyone in need of help outside working hours to phone their GP because callers will be given a DHU helpline number or have their calls diverted.

Dr Ian Anderson, of the Avenue House Surgery, on Saltergate, Chesterfield, said: "I'm proud out-of-hours services are provided in Derbyshire by doctors and nurses who run their own practices and work within the NHS.
"People can feel safe when their surgery is closed because doctors and nurses are available to deal with urgent healthcare issues and can be contacted by phone."
DHU operators are available to field calls and refer callers to a nurse or doctor to discuss problems and if necessary this can lead to home visits or treatment centre appointments.
