Novel look to revamped library
Chesterfield Library
Chesterfield Library has started welcoming back visitors after a three-week closure for renovation work.
Major work has taken place at the library, aimed at creating a more welcoming and spacious entrance area complete with new book display stands and seating.
Four self-service terminals and a new counter are also part of the refurbishment at the New Beetwell Street site.
Chesterfield Library is the fifth busiest in the whole country, and the doors re-opened again at 9am this morning (Monday, January 30).
A full programme of events to celebrate the library’s refurbishment takes place later this month and will include behind-the-scenes tours and films of Chesterfield in days gone by.
Library opening times are: Monday-Friday: 9am-7pm and Saturday: 9am-4pm.
