Trafford-James Jackson-Poole with severe facial wounds following an Akita attack

A mother says her three-year-old son had a lucky escape, despite suffering horrendous injuries after being attacked by a Japanese Akita dog.

Trafford-James Jackson-Poole needed 100 stitches to his cheek and suffered a fractured eye socket after being mauled by the dog in a Chesterfield pub.

Mum Gemma, said: “The first thing I thought was ‘is he going to die?’

Now she wants the dog destroying before another child gets hurt.
