Recycling and refuse teams in Bolsover and North East Derbyshire will pick up black and burgundy bins which were unable to be collected due to severe weather.

Residents are advised that the service – which is run jointly by Bolsover District Council and North East Derbyshire District Council – will operate as below in the two areas from Monday, January 28 to Friday, February 1 (unless affected by further severe weather).

Bolsover

Bolsover District Council will be suspending green bin collections during w/c 28 January, to instead collect bins which were missed due to the bad weather.

Black bins which have not been emptied will be collected. Residents who missed a collection are advised to put out their black bin on their usual collection day by 6am, during w/c 28 January.

Burgundy bins - residents who missed a burgundy bin collection are advised to put it out on their normal collection day by 7am, during w/c 28 January.

North East Derbyshire

North East Derbyshire District Council will be collecting black bins and burgundy recycling bins which were missed:

Black bins - missed black bins are to be collected on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 January. Residents who missed their collection (rounds affected were Monday 22 Jan, Tuesday 23 Jan) are asked to put their bin out by 7am on their usual collection day (Mon 28 or Tues 29 Jan).

Burgundy bins - residents who missed a burgundy bin collection are advised to put it out by 7am on Wednesday 30 January, and the council will aim to collect all missed bins by the end of the week.

Residents are advised that no side waste will be taken with the black bins – please bag this up ready to go in the bin immediately after the extra collection. Excess waste can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Stonegravels, Chesterfield, or Buttermilk Lane, Duckmanton. These are open as usual from 8.30am to 6pm every day.
