Mr and Mrs D. Clay, Bolsover

Childhood sweethearts Don and Jeanne Clay have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

The diamond couple met at a dance, at Bolsover Parish Church, when they were just teenagers and years later they tied the knot at the same church.

Don (82), worked as a bevin boy and a railway clerk when he was younger before getting a job at Mansfield Electricity Board, where he worked for many years.

Jeanne (79), used to work at the former cinema in Bolsover.

The couple have one son, David.

Sadly, Don is now suffering from Alzheimers and has had to move from the couple's home on the Castle Estate, in Bolsover, to a care home in Langwith.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with a tea party at the care home with family.
