Marathon boost by healthy employee
HEALTHY workers are becoming adventurous in their attempts to boost points on their pedometers in the Workplace Challenge aimed at improving lifestyles.
BRM Solicitors clocked up an additional 40,812 steps after partner Sarah Rowland took her pedometer round the Chester Marathon as part of her efforts to also raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The company is one of many signed up to the Derbyshire Times, Derbyshire chamber of commerce and NHS Derbyshire County Workplace Challenge and who have been armed with pedometers to record their efforts.
Following the six-week project’s October 1 launch the latest average records read as follows with the most active listed first: Visit Peak Derbyshire, Enable Group, The Chamber, Brighter Directions, Wilkins Hammond, Derbyshire Sport, Impact Apprenticeships, BRM Solicitors, Redlands IS, Fastsigns, The HR Dept and Derbyshire Times. The winner will get a Workplace Challenge Trophy. Those interested in joining can call Derbyshire chamber’s Jon Smart on (01246) 207207.
