Man dead after Eckington wall crash

One man has died and another is seriously injured after the car they were passengers in collided with a wall.

At around 1am on Saturday, May 17 a silver Peugeot 106 collided with a wall on Chesterfield Road, Eckington, near to Marsh Quarry.

An 18-year-old rear seat passenger suffered fatal injuries. The other rear seat passenger, a 19-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

The driver and front seat passenger suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle was travelling from Chesterfield in the direction of Eckington when the collision took place. No other vehicles were involved.

Derbyshire police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed this collision or events leading up to it.
