Indian cycle challenge success

A BUXTON woman joined 65 amazing women to cycle through India in aid of charities helping the fight against women’s cancers.

The Women V Cancer charity cycle began in the village of Khuanan where the ladies were blessed by a holy man.

They then cycled 350km, over five days, through Rajasthan and its stunning scenery along dirt tracks, past villages and temples.

Pauline Maund, who raised £3,800, said: “The ride was challenging to say the least as you had to cycle past cows that wandered about freely, goats and camels and of course, traffic.

“The roads were poor with humps and pot holes and we did have many accidents.

“All this was made worthwhile as our group made £265,000 for our charity.”

Pauline would like to thank all those who supported her fundraising.
