In days of yore at Pinxton

A Pinxton church was haunted by spectres from the past during a special historical display last week.

Over the weekend, St Helen's Church was transformed into a medieval chapel which featured a real-life knight, a miner and a Latin-speaking monk.

As well as guiding visitors through Pinxton's past, church warden Carol Reeve also gave talks about the bell tower and bell-ringing.

The three-day exhibition also featured the family tree of prominent local family the Cokes, historical maps, a display of Pinxton porcelain and information about the history of mining in the area.
