FLIP-FILLED fun was brought to Winster on Shrove Tuesday as an inaugural pancake race took place in the village.

Competitors from toddlers to pensioners grabbed their frying pans to race along the village’s main street.

Around 50 people took part in 12 races.

Organiser Nicola Gilbert said: “It was a brilliant day and we had a really good turn-out.

“Some of the older generation said the pancakes were not being tossed enough and they would have been disqualified in their day but good fun was had by all.”
