Family fun day to remember tragic George
The family of a Dronfield youngster who died from Septicaemia are organising a fundraising fun day in his memory.
George Gray was just three-years-old when he died suddenly from the illness following an infection from chicken pox.
His family organised a memorial fundraising day on the first anniversary of his death last year and have chosen to repeat the tribute this year.
George's mum Elizabeth said: "It was a great success and we raised nearly 5,000 for the charity Meningitis Research Foundation, which funds research to prevent Septicaemia and Meningitis.
"So once again, for our little boy, we have decided to organise the event again and we hope it to be another great and enjoyable day."
The fundraising day will include a five-a-side football tournament in which friends and family will take part in teams named after George's favourite television characters.
Other activities will include a raffle, tombola, auction, games and a lucky dip. There will also be face-painting, a cake stall and refreshments.
The fundraising day will take place on Saturday, April 10, at The Akademy on Callywhite Lane, Dronfield, from 12pm until around 4pm.
