Drink-drive campaign

Derbyhsire police are urging people to report drivers they know get behind the wheel after a festive tipple as part of their annual Christmas drink drive campaign.

As an added incentive, Crimestoppers have offered a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of a drink-driver

Chief inspector Steve Wilson, head of roads policing in Derbyshire, said: “This time of year is one of celebration for many. But our message is simple – if you’re having a drink don’t drive.

“I would urge anyone with information about a drink driver to contact police or Crimestoppers.”

During the 2011 campaign there were 104 successful prosecutions.

To report a drink-driver call 0800 555 111.
