Derbyshire: Waste not want not

School pupils across Derbyshire will be learning the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling rubbish with the help of theatre.

Courtesy of Derbyshire County Council, pupils from 37 secondary schools will see The Waste Watchers – a 50 minute interactive performance by the Gibber Theatre Company.

The show uses humour, music, multimedia and popular culture to engage, inspire and give students a sense of respect and responsibility toward the environment.

The performance focuses on key environmental themes such as food waste and the benefits of putting unwanted items to good use.

It will be in schools until March 28 and each performance is followed by a workshop where pupils can contribute ideas.
