Derbyshire on snow alert amid big freeze
This was the snowy scene in Chesterfield exactly two years ago. Are we in for another harsh winter?
Weather forecasters are warning of snow in Derbyshire.
The Met Office has issued an alert for the county with possible snow overnight tonight.
Forecasters said up to 3cm of wintry weather could fall at lower levels with more accumulations over higher ground, including in the Peak District.
A Met Office spokesman said: “The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport.”
The county has been in the grip of cold weather for the past week with icy roads causing misery for motorists.
If it snows in your area, send your experiences and pictures to Derbyshire Times reporter Michael Broomhead by emailing michael.broomhead@jpress.co.uk or tweeting @micklesb.
