Derbyshire football ground gets new ‘devil’ name

News

News

The Devil Made Me Do It Ground is the new name for a Derbyshire football club’s stadium, thanks to a tattooist who won the naming rights in a raffle.

Clay Cross Town FC’s ground will adopt the curious moniker – thought up by tattooist, Rob Clements – for all of next season, following a prize draw held by club bosses to help rebrand the side.

Rob, owner of The Devil Made Me Do It tattoo studio on High Street, Clay Cross, said: “I entered a raffle for £10 and now a football club’s ground is named after my business, and I never win anything!.

“If a fan wanted the club crest of Clay Cross Town FC on their arm I could do it for around £70. Around 90 per cent of what a do is custom work.”
