EARL Sterndale teenager Chloe Lindley and her fellow villagers have been putting their best feet forward for a good cause.
Chloe, 15, organised her second annual sponsored walk to raise money for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), a cause close to her heart as she was diagnosed with auto immune liver disease last year.
And when the fund-raiser was held on Sunday, Chloe was joined by 45 villagers for the seven mile walk around the village, as well as being supported by a number of local businesses. Buxton Mineral Water supplied 150 bottles of water for the walkers, with other businesses including Swains, Brierlow Bar Bookstore, Morrisons and Waitrose providing raffle prizes.
The community effort, including donations from the Billerettes and Buxton Under 17s Football Club, means that Chloe has raised £650 to date with more still to come in.
“I’m delighted with this,” she said. “It means that in the past two years I’ve raised £2,700 to help other young people like me.”
