CHANGES to bus routes from Chesterfield to Sheffield are to come into force.
Stagecoach announced today that its services 44 and 44a would be changed due to passenger demand and feedback.
Amendments to the Chesterfield, Dronfield, Sheffield route have come about as the result of a regular review.
The 44 will continue to operate hourly via the current route between Chesterfield, Dronfield, Coal Aston and Sheffield.
Service 44A is to operate between Chesterfield, Sheepbridge, Dronfield and Coal Aston only.
Buses on the route will run in a one-way loop around Coal Aston from Snape Hill Lane via Green Lane, Eckington Road, Ferndale Road, Oakhill Road and Holmesdale Road then back to Snape Hill Lane, before returning to Chesterfield.
On Saturdays the 44 timetable will be revised significantly but continue to operate hourly while service 44A is to be axed because of low passenger demand.
There are no changes to the Sunday timetable.
Most journeys on the 44 and 44A will be extended to start and finish on New Beetwell Street in Chesterfield.
Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “We regular encourage passengers to put forward their views, make comments and, where necessary, suggest areas for improvement.
“The changes we are introducing to services in Chesterfield follow feedback from our customers who play a vital role in shaping our bus networks.”
As part of the review, there are also changes to services 25 from Chesterfield to New Whittington, the 43 and 43A from Chesterfield to Dronfield then Sheffield and the 51 from Chesterfield to Clay Cross then Danesmoor.
