Firefighters rescued a casualty after an articulated lorry left the carriageway of the M1 motorway and went down an embankment.
The crash happened between Junctions 29a and 29, of the southbound M1 motorway, near Bolsover, about 12.50pm, on Friday, September 20.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “There was one person trapped in the tanker which contained 20,000 litres of non-hazardous material.
“The casualty was extricated and was left in the care of the ambulance service.”
The Environment Agency was also alerted even though there was no risk to water courses in the area.
Lane one of the carriageway had to be temporarily closed causing delays for some time until the area could be cleared and made safe.
