A FORMER Derbyshire Times’ bouncing baby who made our headlines when he was born weighing an incredible 11.7lbs has just celebrated a slimeline eighteenth birthday.

Bill Hall, of Stubley Lane, Dronfield Woodhouse, wowed Sheffield’s Jessop Hospital maternity staff and mum Jane after he was born on February 8, 1994.

Dad Michael said: “We were so proud we kept the newspaper story and thought Bill was going to grow up to be enormous but he simply grew into a normal, healthy young man.”

Bill who has just finished studying IT marked his birthday by reading his 1994 story and enjoyed a family meal out.
