A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Derbyshire.
The 57-year old man was thrown from a motor trike after hitting a fence earlier today near Staveley. He sustained head and spinal injuries in the incident.
A crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service was first on the scene. The patient was immobilised with a collar, given intravenous fluids and placed on a spinal board.
Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was also sent to the incident and landed on the road nearby at 11.16am.
The air crew from provided further fluids and used suction to help maintain the patient’s airway.
He was then immobilised before being airlifted to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield for further treatment.
