A fallen motorcyclist’s legacy is to live on in his first child, born just days after the horrific crash that killed him and his friend.
The grief-stricken girlfriend of Daniel Green, 23, gave birth to a baby boy on May 17 – mere hours after hearing of his death, naming him Jayce Daniel Green in his memory.
In a heart-wrenching tribute, his family spoke of their “cheeky but caring” son, who was a role model to his younger brother Rhys, 4, and couldn’t wait to become a dad.
Daniel and his passenger Jamie Lynch, died when their Honda motorbike collided with a wall on the A632 Amber Lane stretch at Kelstedge at around 11.35pm on May 14.
Daniel’s dad Richard Green spoke proudly of his ‘beautiful’ first grandchild and the sorrow of losing his own son.
He said: “I would like to thank friends of Danny for their support. Danny was a fantastic son and best friend. I feel a part of me has also gone and cannot be replaced. Love you son.”
