100 jobs to go at Chesterfield’s CPP
CPP's centre at Future Walk, West Bars, Chesterfield
Chesterfield business sector has been dealt another blow this week after major employer CPP announced it is due to close.
More than 100 people will lose their jobs when the firm on Future Walk in West Bars shuts next month.
Helen Spivey of the company said: ““The closure of Chesterfield bears no reflection on the excellent job that the team have done in providing great experiences for our customers but rather a result of our need to realign the UK business to our current operating environment.
“CPP is fully supporting affected colleagues throughout this process, working hard to minimise the impact on our people.”
The company said the closure was in part due to the loss of a major contract with RBS.
RBS confirmed that it would not be renewing the group’s contract to provide mobile phone insurance from March.
The business, which provides card and identity protection and mobile phone insurance has held consultation sessions over the last few weeks with affected employees in Chesterfield.
The firm said it is assisting the 100 people in finding alternative jobs or redeployment opportunities.
