Please may I ask through the Derbyshire Times if any other Chesterfield Borough Council tenants are dissatisfied with the current method of paying rent and not having a rent-book.
All of the tenants I know are not happy because you have no proof of payments other than silly little paper receipts from paypoints.
The result is you end up with countless tiny slips of paper, of which the ink fades off, making payment details, dates etc indecipherable.
You are then left with no proof of payments made.
Nobody seems to know where they are with their rent.
It is very easy to lose track of how much you owe, which can end in unwanted arrears, which causes problems for both tenants and the council.
Not everyone likes to use direct debit either.
