A FORMER boyband star hoping to scoop Eurovision glory – for Denmark – has lost out on the dream.
Lee Hutton (23), of Old Whittington, was in the last ten acts battling it out for the chance to represent the Scandinavian country at the global music competition this year.
But a closely-fought heat saw A Friend in London voted the winner on February 26 instead of Lee and his catchy track Hollywood Girl.
Lee, now a sales team manager for Chesterfield celebrity agency Revellation, covered a track by Danish electropop superstar Medina in his Eurovision journey and is hoping to work further with the artist.
“It’s been an amazing experience – I have made brilliant contacts out there” said Lee, who toured with Westlife and JLS as a member of boybands Streetwise then Industry.
“I’d like to do something in Denmark, whether it be songwriting or something else, but no, I won’t be going for their Eurovision again.”
The Eurovision Song Contest final takes place in Dusseldorf on May 14 and boyband Blue are representing England.
