Theft

Matthew Bruce Abbott, 40, of Rother Avenue, Brimington, Chesterfield. Indicated a guilty plea to stealing a silver iPhone 6S of a value unknown. Fined £120 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Michaela Griffiths, 27, of Birch Close, Alfreton. Pleaded guilty to stealing a white vest top valued at £3.50 belonging to Ashgate Hospice Charity Shop contrary to the Theft Act 1968. Must pay an £80 victim surcharge. Commission of a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made by Northern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court for the offences of two thefts. No adjudication. Dealt with for the two thefts relating to the suspended sentence order of stealing eight packs of Gillette Fusion Pro-glide razors valued at £120 belonging to Wilkinson’s store in Ripley and stealing make-up valued at £960.13 belonging to Boots. Committed to prison for 22 weeks.

Sophie Ann Pirie, 33, of Princess Street, Brimington, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to stealing a box of Ready Brek valued at £2.29 belonging to The Co-op, on High Street, Brimington. Must pay £2.29 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Pleaded guilty to stealing three Ariel Gel products valued at £7.47 each belonging to the Co-op, on High Street, Brimington. Must pay £7.47 compensation. Committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months. Admitted committing a further offence during a suspended sentence order for the offences of four thefts. Suspended sentence of 20 weeks of imprisonment suspended for 12 months amended by extending the operational period to 18 months and extending the supervision period to 18 months.

Daniel Richard Scarle, 26, of Carter Lane East, South Normanton, Alfreton. Pleaded guilty to stealing two boxes of chocolate valued at £12 belonging to My Local supermarket. Pleaded guilty to stealing three Magnetic iPhone cables, two multipack Zigzag cigarette papers and two pairs of earphones valued at £7 belonging to Poundland. Pleaded guilty to stealing a Micro SD card and adapter valued at £19.50 belonging to Wilkinson’s. Admits committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge for 12 months. No action taken on the breach. Pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail. Community order to last until June 1, 2017, with a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement, a Thinking Skills Programme and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement. Fined £20 and must pay £12 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.

Mattthew John Freeman, 19, of Shakespeare Avenue, Creswell. Pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. Fined £40 and must pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Christopher Andrew Howell, 28, of Lansbury Drive, South Normanton, Alfreton. Pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely a Sat Nav and a DVD player. Committed to prison for ten weeks. Must pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Ian Kerr, 43, of Melling Close, Grangewood, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. Pleaded guilty to assault. Must pay £75 compensation. Pleaded guilty to damaging a bus. Pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable. Must pay £50 compensation. Committed to prison for 20 weeks.

David Steven Bailey, 32, of Central Drive, Wingerworth, Chesterfield. Admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence in that he failed to perform work as directed. Suspended sentence order for the offences of theft to continue but varied to a term of six weeks suspended for 12 months with 15 hours added for the breach and must therefore complete 95 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.

Kenneth Yates, 57, of Annesley Close, Hasland, Chesterfield. Indicated a guilty plea to being in the company of two people which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order. Committed to prison for 12 weeks. Must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Commission of a further offence during a suspended sentence order for three offences of assault by beating and to possessing a controlled drug of class B. No adjudication. Admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order by failing to keep in touch with the responsible officer and failing to provide verification for the reasons for absence. No adjudication. Dealt with for the original offences of three counts of assault and one count of possessing amphetamine. Committed to prison for 12 weeks.

Nicholas Matthew Subocz, 51, of Station Lane, Old Whittington, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle, namely a Ford Focus, on Park Road, Chesterfield, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion in his breath exceeded the alcohol drink-drive limit. Fined £500 and must pay a £50 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

Andrew Robert Cocking, 31, of MacDonald Close, Grassmoor, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. Fined £173 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £250 costs. Driving record endorsed with four points.

Admitted a further offence during a suspended sentence order for the theft of a cycle. Suspended sentence of 12 weeks imprisonment suspended for 12 months for the theft of a cycle amended by extending the operational period to 18 months extending the supervision period to 18 months. Pleaded guilty to a further count of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. No separate penalty. Pleaded guilty to using a vehicle which had no test certificate. Lee Peter Shaw, 32, of Stollard Street, Clay Cross. Found guilty of assault. Fined £150 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £300 costs.

Mark Stephen Crain, 39, of Lansbury Avenue, Pilsley, Chesterfield. Found guilty of assault. Community order to last until November 30, 2017, with a Building Better Relationships Programme and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 40 hours of unpaid work. Restraining order to last until May 31, 2017. Must pay £50 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge and £620 costs.

Callum Mcilwee, 28, of Snowberry Close, Hasland, Chesterfield. Convicted of three counts of assault. Must pay £500 compensation and an £80 victim surcharge and £420 costs. Committed to prison for 23 weeks suspended for 24 months with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work. Restraining order to last until further order.
