The choir rehearses at the Dale Club, Jacksdale, on Mondays at 7.30pm. No audition required.

Members of the choir joined forces with Nottingham Male Voice Choir for a concert in St Michael’s All Angels Church, Underwood, last month.

Twenty-nine singers in the joint choir performed a well received programme, including the songs Stout Hearted Men, Gwahoddiad, Last of the Summer Wine, Nessun Dorma, Rhythm of Life and You’ll Never Walk Alone.

In addition, solo performances were made by Dave Gibbon (You Raise Me Up), Dave Braithwaite (Vincent) and Bill Walker (Stay Sweet as You Are).

A monologue was read by David Cole and the madrigal group sang “Your Shining Eyes” and “Through My Carriage Be But Careless”.

The joint choir, pictured above, was directed by Christine Buxton, musical director of the Pye Hill Male Voice Choir. Accompaniment on the piano was provided by Rosemary Jones and Trevor Hides.
