A DRUNKEN dad-to-be went on a wrecking spree after his ex-girlfriend said he would never see their child, Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard.

Robert Clarke, 22, damaged several cars after 11pm, on December 2, according to the court.

Becky Mahon, prosecuting, said a resident saw Clarke, 22, take a brick from a skip and smash the windscreen of a Honda Civic belonging to Stephanie Wright. Clarke also damaged a Citroen Berlingo and a Fiat Panda.

Jobless Clarke, of Houfton Road, Bolsover, admitted three charges of damaging vehicles and asked for a similar offence to be considered.

He was given a one-year probation supervision order and must pay £75 to each of the four complainants plus £60 to a victims-of-crime fund.

Denney Lau, for Clarke, said his pregnant partner had told him their relationship was over and he would never see their child.
