DERBYSHIRE fire service is today, Thursday, April 14, investigating the cause of an overnight house fire in South Normanton.
The blaze erupted at the semi-detached property, on Berristow Lane, about 7.45pm, on Wednesday, and police and firefighters were called out with three appliances and a high rise ladder platform.
A police spokesman said: “We believe there were no suspicious circumstances involved and no one was believed to have been injured.”
Firefighters armed with water jets and a hose reel, including an Alfreton crew, battled the blaze and made it safe within two hours.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The house was discovered well alight and crews extinguished the blaze and left the scene at 21.39 hours on Wednesday, April 13, and an inspection was scheduled to be carried out this Thursday morning from 8.30am.”
