Ice rink is coming to town in just days!

An ice rink will help launch the festive season in Staveley as the town hosts its Christmas market and lights switch-on.

The 13m x 13m mobile ice rink will be on offer in the Market Square between 4pm and 8pm next Wednesday.

The attraction has been made possible thanks to Staveley Town Council, Derbyshire County Council, Community Growth CIC, businesses and residents.

Children can get a ticket for £2.50; adults £5.

The Christmas market will include food, craft stalls and children’s rides.

The lights switch-on will take place at 6.30pm.

Meanwhile, Derby's Christmas ice rink has now opened.

Each year more than 20,000 people are drawn to the attraction in Derby's Market Place, which is being funded by Derbyshire's cricket ground sponsor 3aaa and the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District with a contribution from Derby City Council.

Hundreds of people attended a launch event on Thursday night.
