Rotarians have been impressed by the ambition of a brave young woman who is planning to travel to faraway lands to provide help to people in need.

Members of Hucknall Rotary Club heard of Preethi Perera’s plans to embark upon a two-year solo humanitarian trip working in some of the world’s most deprived areas.

Preethi’s journey of a lifetime will begin in Goa, India, supporting local orphanages and animals.

After that she will travel between Bengaluru, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Uganda, Zambia and Ghana working in areas such as education, HIV and AIDS support, as well as numerous construction and renovation initiatives.

Rotary president Kevin Rostance, pictured above with Preethi Perera, said: “Preethi is an incredibly brave young lady with a great vision and strong determination to reach out to so many.”
